Mission and Clinical Scope

Mission Statement

The Cardiothoracic Critical Care Society is a not-for-profit 501c3,
multidisciplinary, professional organization dedicated to improving care of
patients through innovation, research, advocacy, and education.

The CTCC Board of Directors is made up of individuals who are dedicated to
growing the field of Cardiothoracic Critical Care.

SCOPE OF INTEREST

The CTCC works to create a society dedicated to clinical areas most frequently encountered in the Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and may adapt to changes in the field.
⦁ Pre-operative and post-operative management
⦁ Pulmonary Embolism response teams (PERT)
⦁ Mechanical support devices

  • Extracorporeal Support (ECMO, ECCO2R)
  • Balloon pumps
  • Impella devices
  • VADs

⦁ Transplant (Cardiovascular, Pulmonary)
⦁ Acute cardiogenic shock and advanced heart failure management
⦁ Acute management of PHTN
⦁ Administrative Support- Program development, ICU structure design, and service line strategic growth.

Organization

The Cardiothoracic Critical Care Society is structured as a
multidisciplinary, 501C3 nonprofit the CTCC works to provide global
leadership in Cardiothoracic Critical Care education through innovation,
advocacy, and advancing knowledge.
